John G Younger, MD
Dr. John G. Younger brings a breadth of scientific, entrepreneurial, investment, and governance experience to his clients. With a career spanning academic medicine, start-up leadership, and investment management, John thrives at the intersection of technical innovation and strategic leadership. He specializes in working with clients to tackle complex challenges arising from early-stage technologies, where things rarely go as planned. Most recently, this flexibility was brought to bear leading a complex turn-around and capital restructuring of an early stage surgical device company.
He is the co-founder of Akadeum Life Sciences, a biotechnology company revolutionizing research tools through innovative chemical synthesis and microbubble technology. During his tenure, he oversaw the development and early scaling of its core platform, guiding the company through its critical early stages. As one of very few life science entrepreneurs to serve on the National Advisory Council of the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), John has been recognized for his ability to bridge clinical and business insights with cutting-edge science and policy.
In addition to his entrepreneurial accomplishments, John has extensive experience supporting early-stage life science start-ups and their investors. He has previously led an early-stage, private-public life science investment portfolio serving institutions such as Penn, Drexel, Temple, and other universities in the Delaware Valley. A trusted advisor to venture and private equity firms, he brings deep expertise in diligence, operational insight, and capital allocation, helping clients identify and grow promising opportunities in healthcare innovation.
